Creative Feet  Answers to Most-Asked Questions

Creative Feet are guaranteed to fit ALL sewing machines as long as it has a zigzag stitch. We receive many emails each day from people asking if the feet fit their machine. We understand your concern however, Creative Feet are the only feet engineered to fit all zigzag machines. For more information on the Creative Feet click here.

In addition to our "fit all" guarantee-you receive a lifetime exchange warranty and free technical support. After teaching for 10 years I realized how important it was to have written instructions. Before Creative Feet, you only received instructions with a ruffler attachment and those of you that have attempted to comprehend those instructions, know how poorly they were written.

In addition to the instructions that you receive with each of the Creative Feet, we have a 208 page workbook and 2 hour instructional video tape available for you to complete a total of 61 techniques. Yes 61 techniques (some that have never existed before) that are easy to understand and fun to learn-all with just our 3 feet!

If you are interested in purchasing the Creative Feet or already have the feet and are interested in the book & video be sure to check out our Sewing Specials page.

The following is a list of 61 techniques that you can do with your zigzag sewing machine and the Creative Feet and never trade your feet in with your machine again!

Just imagine having one set of feet that fit all of your machines-even your friends machine.

Warning: Attempting to share Creative Feet can be dangerous-many have tried---few have succeeded. We have had many customers that had to buy their friends a set just to get their set back.

Creative Feet Technique
Blanket Stitch & Faux Blanket Stitch Appliqué
This technique is covered on the Creative Feet Techniques Instructional Video but not in the Creative Feet Technical Guide & Workbook. Due to requests  from some of you I've written the machine settings down so that you can print them and add them to your workbooks ~

Machine Settings (blanket stitch)
Presser Foot to use: Satinedge

Presser Foot Pressure: Lightest setting
Thread Tension: 2 number less than normal
Stitch Pattern: Blanket Stitch

Stitch Width: Your choice
Stitch length: Default setting
Needle to use: Sharp 80/12
Needle Thread: High quality
Bobbin Thread: 100% nylon lingerie

Machine Settings (faux blanket stitch) For those who do not have the blanket stitch.
Presser Foot to use: Satinedge

Presser Foot Pressure: Lightest setting
Thread Tension: 2 number less than normal
Stitch Pattern: Blind Hem Stitch

Stitch Width: Your choice
Stitch length: Shorten until the stitch looks like this:
Needle to use: Sharp 70/10
Needle Thread: High quality
Bobbin Thread: 100% nylon lingerie

Foot settings:

  • Place the Satinedge foot on to your sewing machine.
  • Use the invisible appliqué instructions for fabric preparation.
  • Lower the needle when the machine is in the stitch cycle of sewing straight.
  • Adjust the guide-pin on the foot so that the needle is just left of the pin.
  • The pin should rest just off the edge of the appliqué.
  • Do not watch the sewing machine needle watch the guide making sure it rests just off the appliqués edge.
  • The sewing machine needle does not swing over the guide-pin on this technique.
SIA adhesive-backed stabilizer patching
Save money
When you embroider a small design using a large hoop you do not have to waste the excess stabilizer.
  • Determine how large the design will be.
  • Cover excess SIA with left-over release liner (paper backing) from SIA.
  • Lay fabric over sticky area remaining.
  • Embroider.
  • Carefully tear embroidery away from SIA.
  • Patch the area that was torn away with a slightly larger piece of SIA.
  • To patch place the small piece of SIA onto non-sticky side of SIA.
  • Lay hoop on flat surface with sticky side-up.
  • Rub firmly using the release liner to ensure a secure bond.
How to use Sdsv for embroidery
You have 2 choices on how to use the wonder Sdsv water soluble adhesive-backed stabilzer.
  • Stretch to cover the entire area of the hoop
  • Apply SIA to hoop first then cover the SIA with the release liner. Cut away a section of SIA where you want to embroider and patch with Sdsv.

This stabilizer is great for use whenever you do not want to see the stabilizer on the reverse side of your embroidery. Both the stabilizer and the adhesive wash away in warm water.

Giant hoop styles
Which hoop?
I receive many emails from customers wondering which Giant Hoop is right for their machine to assist you in making a correct choice we have a hoop finder chart on our site click here.
Hoop-It-All Update
Which and when will hoops be available for machines?
Because the Hoop-It-All hoops are in such demand it is difficult to keep up with orders. To remedy this, Hoop-it-All has just completed remodeling their facility and updating equipment. Unfortunately (as with most projects) it took much longer than expected.

Hoop-it-All also has experienced set backs with a contractor that supplied support tables for them. To prevent this from ever happening again Hoop-It-All has assumed complete control over their entire production process. Once Hoop-It-All is caught up with orders for their existing hoop styles, they will begin production on the following hoops:
  • Viking Designer 1 & 2
  • Janome & New Home 10,000
  • Singer XL1000
  • Pfaff 2140
  • Singer XL5000

If you are interested in any of these hoops please scroll down to read more details regarding your machine. If you have a Pfaff 7560 or 7570 please read the information on the Pfaff 2140 hoop below, before upgrading your machine.

Viking Designer 1 & 2
Because there is more call for the Hat hoop than the Super Giant-L it will release first however, the Super Giant-L will follow soon after. We do not have a specific date to give you, as to when these hoops will release and promise to keep you updated. To speed up the process be sure to click here for inclusion on the waiting list.

If you have already ordered your hoop-the order will be held, your card will not be charged until the hoop ships. We will notify you and wait for your approval before actually processing the orders so you are not surprised by the charge to your account. Pre-Order status guarantees that you will receive one of the first hoops HIA produces. If you wait on the list until the hoops are made-chances are you will have to wait longer as HIA usually sells out of their new stock quickly.

Janome & New Home 10,000
Because we have had more call for the Janome 10,000 hoop than the Singer XL1000 machine, Janome was pushed ahead and will release first. You will have the following choices: (to speed up the process and prevent the machine from being pushed back be sure to get on the waiting list by clicking here)

  1. Janome 10,000 Giant-L: 18 3/4" x 8 1/4" frame size and 15.8"x5.5" sewing field. This hoop has 2 rails (one on either side) allowing you to sew 2 complete sewing fields on top of one-another (long) in one hooping.
  2. Janome 10,000 Double Wide hoop: 13 3/4" wide X 8 1/4" long frame with a sewing field of 10.8" wide X 7.9' long. This hoop allows you to sew 2 complete embroidery fields side-by-side in 1-hooping!
  3. Janome 10,000 Big Cap Hoop: This hoop allows you to sew one complete sewing field design or smaller designs. Unique Hoop-It-All cap-bill bracket holds down baseball cap bills and thick leather. Comes with a placement template and complete instructions. This hoop is great for smaller projects too.

You will be able to purchase 1 bracket for all 3 hoop frame styles to save you money! I am checking to see if the same support table will be used for both the Super Giant-L and the Double wide.

Singer XL1000
Due to a higher volume of people waiting for the Janome 10,000 hoop Singer XL1000 was pushed back. If you have not already signed up on the waiting list do so now. Click Here.

Pfaff 2140 (Pfaff 7560 & 7570 Must Read)
Due to changes made by Pfaff with regards to the way the machine determines which hoop it has on, if you have/had a Pfaff 7560 or 7570 machine you will not be able to use the Hoop-It-All hoops from your old machine on the new 2140 machine.

This is a situation beyond HIA's control and though a hoop will be made for you they cannot do so, until the demand for these machines is much higher. It is unlikely that these hoops will be made this year. If you belong to any Pfaffie's lists or groups please post messages indicating that the only way this hoop will be made faster is if the demand reflects the need to. Have them email me clare@creativefeet.com for inclusion to the list.

We are hoping that the machine only needs a new bracket and if so it is possible that you will be able to acquire just the bracket instead of needing the hoop frames. To be kept up to date be sure to get placed on the 2140 waiting list.

Singer XL5000
This machine is so new and with very few people on our waiting list-it will probably not be until next year before HIA will have a hoop for your machine. If you have not already signed up on the waiting list do so now.

Signing up on the waiting list speeds up the process and prevents the machine from being pushed back, be sure to get on the waiting list by clicking here.

 Hoop Rumor

Please help us spread the truth

Somewhere on the Internet it is stated that Hoop-It-All, Inc., has recalled the Bernina artista Giant-L hoops. THIS IS NOT TRUE. If anyone knows where this has been written please let us know so we may put an end to this rumor. If you belong to a Bernina list and wouldn't mind posting for us that the artista hoops are not recalled. This has caused undue stress for many customers and to Hoop-It-All. Thank You!
